Description: This is the individual figurine that was part of the Portland Art Museum installation: Host (Sword to Mind). Like the female figure in Cloud Morph, she is constructed of interchangeable parts, and now wears a miniature architectural ziggurat. The figurine has an archetypal layer, enacting the Buddhist concept of Sword to Mind, reflecting that the precision of the sword might cut both ways. The installation was site specific for the museum gallery, playfully mimicking the ubiquitous, mass-produced, trademark icons.
