Description: The sculpture installation was created for a standard commercial display case at EIA. It spoofs visual merchandizing and bold trademark iconography common in commercial display. “Snow-Globe” shows a figure in cocktail dress with a traveler’s staff, standing under manufactured snow fall. She looks out at the real north Alberta landscape seen through the airport windows. That landscape is central to the tar sands industry in Alberta, a contrast to the seductive imagery and a thought-provoking subtext to the sculpture.
