Description:  Originally conceived as a study or full-size “blueprint” for a sculpture, the imagery of the rock is inspired by the traditional Chinese miniature Scholar’s Rock which provided a meditation on mountain landscape  within a courtyard garden or bookshelf.  The study brings together the natural and the man-made, the organic and the geometric, landscape and furniture.
